Good Reads Lately
Anybody read anything good lately?
I just finished "Game Change", and found it a good interesting quick read. Provided some insight into the Obama / Hillary world, but maybe not enough into the McCain Palin world... A good read in hardcover http://www.amazon.com/Game-Change-Clintons-McCain-Lifetime/dp/0061733636/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268017700&sr=1-1
Read Superfreakenomics a few moths ago. Also a quick read, interesting knowledge on the price of s#x on the streets of Chicago ( wonder if Obama did some of the research, you know Bill C would have helped if it was in his hometown). Overall a good read, but such a quick read I think the paperback copy might be more worth it. http://www.amazon.com/SuperFreakonomics-Intl-Patriotic-Prostitutes-Insurance/dp/0062003208/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268017646&sr=1-3
My barber gave me a copy of this http://www.amazon.com/Im-Staying-My-Boys-Basilone/dp/0312611447/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268017534&sr=8-2-spell I'll let you know my thoughts...
p.s. even thought these are amazon links, shop local http://www.wordsmaplewood.com/

Good Time at Toro Loco
OK, guys....trying to resuscitate the blog.... Good meeting at TL last Wednesday. Dave, John and Jim, you were missed. Dave Binder will take up the cudgel for the next meeting on April 23. I think we can break out the shirts then and attract some attention. The next thing we have to work on is the secret handshake. Be well. - - Mike.

We all have a role in bringing reading back
Half of all Americans under 44 did not read a book last year, according to Susan Jacoby, the author of a new book on anti-intellectualism in America. She was interviewed earlier in the week on WNYC.
